I photographed a Joondalup Resort wedding, and took the above image. That photo went on to win the first place for weddings in the 2008 International Photography Awards. I guess it could be argued that it was the beginning of my love affair with Joondalup Resort.
The venue is gorgeous, it is well managed, and has a bright future. Few wedding venues can boast about themselves the way Joondalup Resort can.
The people who work for the resort are proud of their work, from the general manager, to the event co-ordinators, to the chefs, and the bar staff.
Joondalup Resort Weddings – Lake View Ballroom
The newest function venue at the Joondalup Resort certainly doesn’t disappoint in terms of grandeur and style. With its floor to ceiling glass wall overlooking the resort’s lake and golf course being a major feature of this elegant room.
The Lake View’s clean, modern design makes it a venue that would suit any special occasion or theme. It can be split into two smaller spaces with a concertina wall, or used as one large open room which seats up to 450 guests. The space is absolutely stunning when decorated to its full glory.
The grounds of the resort surrounding the Ballroom compliment the beauty and elegance of what’s inside. Views of the sprawling lush green golf course in the distance, tropical gardens and the lake complete with fountain, to the stylish paving and stairs that lead up to the function centre. All this carefully planned attention to detail makes this one of the stand out venues in Perth, and very possibly the best.
There is no end to the beautiful themes that can be created in the Lake View Ballroom. Ceiling drapes and a crystal teardrop chandelier can finish off the room beautifully.

The view of Joondalup Resort’s impressive lagoon style pool from the Poolside Marquee certainly gives the impression of being in a tropical paradise. It creates a very relaxed and calming atmosphere as you look out over the palm tree filled gardens and the glistening water.
Your guests can enjoy pre-dinner cocktails in this beautiful setting whilst they wait for their meals to arrive. It is an absolutely perfect place to hold a medium to large wedding reception.

Having a small wedding reception? This beautiful little room, complete with a fireplace, will let you celebrate in style. Personally, the thought of such an intimate little wedding reception, private from the outside world, is enticing.
Joondalup Resort Weddings – Grand Ballroom
The Grand Ballroom is suitable for a medium size wedding of up to 100 guests for a seated banquet style wedding reception or 150 for cocktail style.
It can be decorated and styled to your choice of theme with beautiful backdrops like the one shown behind the bridal table above by Sassy Events.
From a simple minimalist look to an elegant, lavish affair the Grand Ballroom is perfect for your wedding reception celebrations. With the inclusion of a dance floor, you can party the night away, once all the formalities of the evening are over.

The Jacaranda Room can be decorated to your personal taste and style to compliment your wedding theme.
A perfect room for smaller more intimate weddings (50-65 guests banquet style/50-80 guests cocktail style), this room has a terraced balcony and large windows that overlook the resort’s pool, gardens, and golf course.

View 180 brings together everything you need for a classy cocktail reception, or just a party! I’ve personally spent some time enjoying a drink in View 180 following a game of golf. It is a great spot with a wonderful atmosphere.

Joondalup Resort has a number of beautiful wedding ceremony locations to choose from. Whether you choose the picturesque gardens by the lake, the garden gazebo, the paved terrace or a ceremony at the base of the stairs outside the Lakeview Function Centre, you are definitely spoilt for choice here at Joondalup Resort.
As a bonus, resort staff are always nearby to lend a hand to guests and bridal parties (and photographers).

We have shot photography and video for many weddings at Joondalup Resort. When we think about what the venue has to offer, it comes down to some very unique opportunities. One minute dodging kangaroos in a golf buggy, the next minute soaking up the atmosphere around the beautiful pool. We love the pristine and perfectly kept nature of the park.
The addition of hotel rooms for both bride and groom preparations in the morning gives Joondalup Resort the opportunities of single-location weddings. As someone who has been to hundreds of weddings, let me assure you that a wedding which doesn’t involve driving tens of kilometres is a wonderful thing.
